Crosley Automobile Club, New England Region

What do a bunch of people need most when they share a common passion? They need a way to share stories, swap information, and just have fun!

The Club Is Formed!

Picture a very wet Sunday, October 27, 2019.   On the front lawn of Heavenly Donuts, 658 New Haven Avenue,Derby, a 1952 Pickup braved the steady downpour as the new club huddled inside over hot coffee and warm donuts.  Twenty men and women signed their names to a list and agreed to get together on a regular basis (about six times a year) at various locations (to be announced).

Jeffrey Ackerman’s 1952 Pickup

The founding members are serious about their Crosleys.  Jeffrey Ackerman, owner of the pickup drove from New York to show off his car despite the foul weather.  Too bad there were more earthworms hanging by the wheels than people.  The rain was just coming down in sheets.  But that didn’t stop the chatter about the car.  Jeff knows that ’52 was the last year Crosley made its pickups and his car might just be the very last pickup made.

As for club business, the proposed slate of officers now includes Ted Dellacamera as president and Neil Cawthra as vice president. Their first official task is to get approval from the national club but anyone interested in joining is welcome to email yankeecrosley@gmail.com now.  No waiting!  Keep an eye on this page for upcoming events and news if you want to know more.  If you have something you want to share with the club—upcoming shows, updates on your project car, shots of a great time with your Crosley—use that same email and we’ll post it on this page so other members of the Crosley Automobile Club can enjoy.

Thanks to everyone who showed up at the inaugural meeting and to Ernie of Heavenly Donuts for being a great host.  We’re sure that soggy Sunday is the first of many good times to come… with sunshine in the forecast!
